The equation starts out with some technical feature/functionality (TFF) that needs to be delivered to a portfolio company. Once the team understands the inner workings of that TFF, they make the decision to build the TFF, buy that TFF from another source and enhance it, and/or partner with a company who already has the same TFF available for utilization. There are a few factors that determine which method or combination of methods would suit that feature the best.
